Participation/ Presentations in International Conference -2011

  1. Dr. Sreelata Reddy Head Department of Commerce Presented a paper on Convergence of Indian Accounting Standards with IFRS  in International Commerce Conference conducted by Madras Christian College Tamil Nadu on 14 & 15  September 2011.

  2. Mrs. Geetanjali Lecturer in Commerce Department have presented a paper on Role of Forensic accounting in protecting investor’s interest IFRS  in International Commerce Conference conducted by Madras Christian College Tamil Nadu on 14 & 15  September 2011.
     
  3. Mrs. Geetanjali presented a paper on Engineering Education in Andhra Pradesh - Impact on Growth of Quality in  International conference at Patna on " Quality in Higher Education Challenges and Opportunity in India on 20th & 21st October, 2011." jointly organized by Institute of public Enterprise, Hyderabad and Human Resource Development Department, Govt. of Bihar, and It was published in the book, FACETS OF QUALITY by Macmillan Publishers.

  4. Mrs. N.Padmalata and Mrs. Umajayender presented a paper on IMPACT OF DTC ON SALARIED CLASS in the 34th All India Accounting Conferences and International Seminar on Accounting education & research at Jaipur which was held on Dec- 17th ,18th 2011.

  5. Dr.K.Sreelatha Reddy & Mrs.L.V.Kamala Devi  have participated in 3rd International Seminar on IT and Business Intelligence, Jointly organized by IMT Nagpur and St.Anns College Mehdipatnam Hyderabad on 25th November 2011.

  6. Mrs.Seema Ghosh have presented a paper on Gender Budgeting – a tool for women empowerment  at a national conference on empowerment of
    women through leadership and entrepreneurship  organized by AMS School of informatics at Hyderabad on 24th October 2011.

Report on Industrial Visit 2011

Department has organized Industrial visit to Raj Classic foods Lt. for B.Com 1st yr students on 11th and 12th November 2011 Nearly 400 B.Com students were actively involved in the learning of food processing in wafers & chocolates.

Prerana - 2011

Prerana is an Intercollegiate Competition which is conducted by Osmania University for all  B.com Honours I year students every year.
8 colleges participated in the meet. Out of which  Bhavan’s Vivekananda College has  won the overall championship for the year 2011-2012.

DISHA

BHAVANOTSAV 2012 was a one-day inter collegiate techno cultural  fest  organized
on 7th January 2012 .It aims at exploring the talent of students and developing a healthy competitive spirit .It is a culmination of formal and informal events .The department of commerce ,BVC is keen in bringing the competitive spirit among the students in various activities. Hence it took initiative in organizing DISHA BHAVANOTSAV-2012 under the able guidance of Dr.K.Sreelatha Reddy, Head, Department  of commerce.

AAPKI KACHERI(CASE STUDY ANALYSIS):

Under DISHA the department of commerce organized an event called case study analysis which is a team event, consisting of two students in which 15 teams participated from different colleges. The event was judged by Prof. N. Sudheer kumar from EThames Graduate School India. The essence of the event is to analyze the given case and do  the role play for justification of the analysis.

AD -VENTURE :

As a part of DISHA ,department conducted the advertisement based event AD-VENTURE which tests the creativity , spontaneity and marketing skills of the participants. It’s a team event, team consists of two students. The event consisted of two rounds. 22 teams from various colleges registered for the event out of which 10 teams were short listed for the final round . The event was judged by Mr. G. Suresh, Asst. HOD, ICFAI Business School,  Hyderabad. The First round was Audio visual round where the participants had to identify the LOGOS of five companies displayed and they had to frame their own punch lines for two different products for which the advertisement was displayed without the company’s name.


In the second round the participants were given 10 items out of which they had to choose 7 items and make their product within 30 minutes. They were given 3 minutes time to market their product.

Rack your brain is a Subject wise Quiz conducted under the banner of DISHA to judge the subject competency of the students of Bcom  I, II and IIIrd year. Its a team event having two students per team. Total of 30 teams from 12 different colleges participated with lot of enthusiasm.

TOL MOL KE BOL:

Tol Mol Ke Bol  is an Informal event which was conducted in DISHA 2012 . In this  the audience Were shown a product for guessing its appropriate price. If the guess is right the product is given to them as a prize. Students from various colleges like Aurora, St. Mary’s college, IIMC , Deccan etc. have participated very actively. It was fun filled event and  the Student volunteers of VOICE club Renick Ross and Shashank entertained the crowd all through the event.

Other Activities organized by the Department :

Bridge Course


Bridge Course is conducted  to enhance the knowledge levels of non-commerce background students in order to bring them at par with commerce students. It was conducted in all the optional subjects – Financial accounting, Business Organization and Management and Economics. There were totally 43 students and the total number of classes taken were 14. It was conducted from 7th July to 16th August by different lectures.
