There are 95 international students for the academic year 2012-13,from 14 different countries :Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Sudan,  Rwanda, Nigeria, Yemen,  DR-Congo, Ethiopia, Cameroon , Zambia , Niger, South Africa and USA.

 

Bhavans’ International Students are explored to Indian Paintings.

 

To promote Indian Culture among the students, Spic Mcay organized a four day work shop on Indian Cherial Paintings from 20-11-’12 to 23-11-’12. The International Students along with Indian students showed lot of enthusiasm to participate and made their own paintings.


Mr. Madhu , an artist from Spic Mcay trained the students from sketching till painting, with the help of the  Student co-coordinators Mr. Musa Btanda, Mr. Herman and Miss Helen from BVC, Miss. Iris Kwiers from Spic Mcay.


The Students’ affairs committee and the Foreign Students’ Advisory Committee of BVC coordinated the activities with encouragement by the Principal and management.

 

 

 

INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS 2012:

 

The Foreign Students’ Advisory and Welfare Committee under the aegis of the management and Principal, organized INDUCTUION PROGRAMME to welcome, guide and  monitor the newly joined International Students on 18th Sep 2012.


The new entrants were introduced to Bhavan’s work culture, it’s code of conduct and they were made aware of the participation of the senior students in all the activities of the college to achieve the best . 

 

The Principal Prof. Y. Ashok, Vice Principal Dr. P. Uma addressed the students by their valuable guidelines and suggestions. The ex-student coordinators Mr. Ivan Ruby and Miss Mildred were felicitated for their excellent work.  The present student coordinators  Mr. Btanda , Mr. Herman and Miss Hellen organized an interesting interactive session with the new entrants.

Overseas Students Passing out Ceremony 2012:


The Foreign Students' Advisory and Welfare committee organized PASSING OUT CEREMONY for the international students of 2009-12 batch. It was a first such event conducted by the college on the completion of graduation.  


Mrs G. Lakshmi , Regional Officer, Indian Council for Cultural Relations agreed kindly to be the Chief guest.


The program started with an address by the co-ordinator of the committee. The Principal Dr. Y. Ashok there after gave a very inspiring speech congratulating students on their successful performance. Later the principal along with the chief guest gave away the certificates. Medals were given to the toppers for their overall academic excellence amongst the foreign students.


The students also expressed their gratitude for their very satisfying three years experience in the college. The meet was also graced by the Vice Principal Dr P. Uma and the other Heads of departments.                                                                                                    

 

 

 

 

Induction Program for the International students of BVC-2011


The Foreign Students’ Advisory and Welfare Committee, BVC had organized an induction program for the international students on the 6th of September, 2011.

EXPLORING –HYD 2011-12


On 22 Dec 2011, the International students of BVC visited Ramoji Film City during EXPLORE –HYD 2011-12. 27 Students accompanied by 3 lecturers started their trip at 9:15 a.m from the college campus.

Activities 2010-11:

Bhavan's Vivekananda college is one of the few colleges in twin cities which is recognized by Osmania university for providing quality education to  stuudents from foreign countries also. At present there are 139 foreign students from nearly 13 different countries like: TANZANIA , MOZAMBIQUE, SUDAN, IVORY COAST,FIJI,CHINA ,SRILANKA, AFGHANISTAN,IRAN etc .

The FOREIGN STUDENTS’ ADVISORY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE has been set up by the college to make the foreign students’ stay in the college more successful.

Functions of the committee:

To maintain a healthy rapport with all the foreign students. For this purpose the committee  organises  “ a foreign students’ meet “ where they can interact with  the principal,  the heads of the departments and  voice their  problems and concerns.

  • To guide them in different aspects like attendance, academic performance, participation in all the activities etc. Members of the committee along with class teachers  monitor their attendance, motivate them to participate in all the college events. Remedial classes are planned for the students.
  • To counsel  and guide them whenever necessary. Student  counseling is providedto students through concerned faculty .To bring their problems to the notice of the manegement. Problems faced by the foreign students are brought to the notice of the committee members through the student representatives.the committee members  forward them to the principal.
  • To convey the advice given by the management to the foreign students. The committee  members convey the advise to the students through representatives.
  • To make them feel comfortable in the college.The committee plans to conduct   regular meetings to make their stay in the college   more comfortable.
