| The Department regularly conducts IT symposium (named Gynana Tharangini Vyakyana Mala) every year for M.Sc computer Science students to provide them a platform to interact with the alumni students and industry to update them on latest trends in IT & corporate world.
BCA students organize Hardware workshop every year under the supervision and guidance of the department. The Department conducts extended Guest lectures on various topics for M.Sc Computer Science students covering modern trends and technologies. The Department organizes Charles Babbage Day every year for Computer Science students on 26th December in commemoration of birth celebrations of Charles Babbage, the Father of Computing. During this event, we conduct various competitions like paper presentations, poster presentations, quiz, online examination, test your programming skills, utility programmes etc. The Department is also responsible for EZ school maintenance, system maintenance, OU software maintenance for nominal rolls etc. EDP Activities: 1. Department had organized a Quiz competition for all B.Sc & BCA students on 21/12/2012 at 3:00 p.m. Department had organized Project Seminars for all B.Sc & BCA students on 14/12/2012 at MBA Block Department had organized an IT Hardware course for U.G students on 13th August, 2012. Department had organized Placement Training Program for B.Sc & BCA III Yr students on 16th July to 18th July, 2012.

The department of computers conducted a placement training program for the second year students to develop awareness. This program was to train the students to attend placements with confidence. 87 students attended the program and majority of them have been placed in many reputed companies through campus placements and the students gave good feedback about the program.

As a part of Value added courses this year, the department organized five day workshop on computer assembling and software installation. 76 students participated and certificates were given on Charles Babbage Day.

Bhavanotsav (Asymtote) – On line exams & Fun games. |
||||||||||||
Department organized online Exam and LAN Games in the event of Bhavanotsav. The online Exam is conducted to enhance the computer knowledge with students and online LAN Game is a fun event to create interest and encourage the student intellectuality in team management. 260 students took part in online exam and 180 students in LAN games from various colleges.

Guest Lectures :Lecture on IEEE 802.11 Protocol/standards for Mobile Communications By. Mr. P.Radha Krishna,Scientific Assistant, CCMB, Tarnaka, Secunderabad Mobile Communications is a common subject for BCA and M.Sc.(cs). The students, lecturers of both computer science and Electronics attended the seminar. This session was for 2 hours where a lot of interest and enthusiasm was shown by the participants. It was a very interactive session with the students answering the questions asked by speaker. Topics covered during the seminar:
