Department of Computer Science

Inception and Growth:

The Computer Science Department has been an integral part of the college since its inception. It started with one undergraduate course – B.Sc (computers). As of now it offers B.Sc, BCA, B.Com (computers), and M.Sc (CS). The Department staff has grown from 2 members to 23 members and caters to more than 2,100 students from a modest beginning of 30 students.

Objectives:

To impart quality education using latest technologies and equip them with a practical approach to meet the corporate requirements. To develop programming and communication skills.

Aphorism:


We the department of Computer Science believe in “Teamwork” because it is the ability to work together towards the common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishment towards organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.

 

Student Achievements

The Department has the distinction of consistently logging above 95% results every year.

Many reputed corporate firms from IT industry, such as WIPRO, SATYAM, INFOSYS, COGNIZANT etc have recruited our students.

We are also proud to announce that many of the first 10 ranks from O.U of B.C.A are from Bhavans.

Many of our students participated in various events conducted by different colleges and won laurels to our college.

Staff Achievements

Mrs.Saraswathi is a Member of Board of Studies for RBVRR College (Autonomus College) and Mr.Bhaskar is a member of Board of Studies O.U.

Mr. N Bhaskar is pursuing his Ph.D in "Dataware House & Data Mining Security" from Rayalaseema University, Kurnool.

Mr. G Mahesh Kumar is pursuing his Ph.D in "Trust Establishment in Grid Computing" from JNTU, Hyderabad.

Mr.Bhaskar, Mr.Ramana, Mr.Mahesh were requested to take guest lectures in Department of Mathematics, O.U.

Mr. Bhaskar published a book for B.Com –FIT and translated Tata McGraw-Hill book from English to Telugu version.

Mr. Ramana is pursuing (M.Tech-CSE) and Mr. Rajesh (MCA).

Mr. P. Srinivasa Completed SCJP (Sun Certified Java Programming) with Distinction.

The department has IT workshop, placement training program, .net training and projects for U.G and PG students in the campus.

To enhance the communication skills, college is organizing soft skills program for PG students.

Road Ahead

Proposal to
  • Provide Cost effective Skills enhancement programs to students, we plan to have a tie up with CSI and other organizations. These programs are aimed at making the students employable.
     
  • Start MCA course.

  • Start value added courses for B.Com (non-computer) students.
