XPRESSIONZ   2010-2011

      XPRESSIONZ  the students club started in 2008, the idealogy of this club is to inspire the students in Literary  and the Cultural Activities- 'for the students and made by the students' . Students are involved in earnest for the Debates, Elocution, Essay Writing, Sloka Recitation, and Story Narration. These are the few activities intent and are encouraged to develop and atune to the unexplored potentialities of the students. Preceding years of the Xpressionz Club are ‘the imprints of the Bhavanites’.
     The great zealous doings like Freshers , Bhavanotsav , Yuvamahotsav , Farewell are the major epitome in the efforts of Xpressionz. Cultural programs are well designed, planned , choreographed and presented in their unique and undaunted spirits. No occasion is the repetition of the ideas or the sequence , which creates a competitive morale among the students through the objective assigned to ‘The Xpressioz Club’.
      Xpressioz Club has its Hierarchy as listed below:
Activities of Xpressionz and the designations alloted for the Academic year 2010-2011:
1. Cultural Department :   Anirudh (co-ordinator editing the performances).
2. Fine Arts Department:   Vinay (co- ordinator for Infrastructure).
3. ON and OFF Stage :      Aditya (co-ordinator, Director and the host)    
4. P.R Department:            Tannavi (co-ordinator to advertise the Events of the college)
5. Logistics :                       Vijay (co-ordinator)
These departments does the complete hospitality and the arrangements for all the events performed in the college includes  the inter collegiate competition and happenings for the year.
                                     

JULY 2010:

1. Induction Program for the Students :

This program is motivation and the awareness event for the students who have joined in the Bhavan’s Degree College.

1. English Department conducted Elocution Competition to the student’s .Topic: “Is Coalition Government a boon or bane.”
2. Debate competition
3. Every Saturday auditions for fresher’s, it goes with elimination and finally only 12 participated for best Fresher’s.
4. Quiz competition.

Independence Day: Event was full of cultural array are performed by the students of Bhavan’s  Xpressions club . Flag hoisting is done by the Director  N.D.N. Bhaskar Rao and the Salutations were given by the principal Mr.Y.Ashok along with the Faculty and the students.
Students who stood First in various fields were awarded by the Director, Principal and the vice principal with certificates for scoring the highest marks for the academic year 2009.
The event  concluded by refreshments to the faculty.

Freshers party hosted by EXPRESSION CLUB:
Venue : Vivek Bharathi
Time    : 11.00 am onwards
VISTOSO is the theme of the event, inaugurated byN.D.N Bhaskar Rao.Hon.Secretary, Correspondent and Treasurer BVB , Hon.Director and Correspondent  BVC Air CMDE and followed by the principals orientation and inspirational encouragement to enjoy the gathering in gaiety . It made a good start with “Mahaganapathy “semi classical song along with the dance by the students. This gave a momentum in flaring up with various dance drama and dance performances by the senior students. There were five rounds of elimination to choose the best Miss Fresher of the Bhavan’s is Alafia. They also had the impressive anchoring done in a unique manner, concept of distributing the prises to the best-dressed, best umbrella and the best raincoat. The event is successfully concluded by the vote of thanks in a very Flamboyant mood, which lasted for long as VISTOSO implies the 'celebration in flamboyant colours'. 

September  2010       :
 Due to some unavoidable reason the day was observed on 7th sep. instead  of 5th sep.
Teachers Day:  The program was organised by the Department of Commerce. Venue was M.B.A Block 1 floor Seminar hall from 3.45 pm to 5.45 pm.
The Chief Guest of the program was Air CMDE N.D.N Bhaskar Rao.Hon.Secretary, Correspondent and Treasurer BVB , Hon.Director and Correspondent  BVC . 
The program started with Bhavan’s prayres followed by the addresses of the Chief  Guest Air CMDE N.D.N Bhaskar Rao , Principal Dr. Y.Ashok updated the appreciable achievements of the faculty and Vote of thanks by the Vice Principal Dr.P.Uma.

December:
Bhavanotsav  is an zealous happening conducted every third year in the month of December.In this academic year 2010 nearly 90 colleges participated in the inter collegiate competitions.
 Language department was allotted ‘kalasangam’  a bunch of programes.

Yuva Mahotsav - Intra Collegiate Competitions.Various departments of Bhavan's Degree College had stood up the meddling Challenges on 30th and 31st of Dec.
Activities are organised by Xpressions Club which involves the Vivacious Students.

Farewell to the outgoing students
2nd Jan 2011

“An Affair To Remember” that is how the juniors of Bhavan’s Vivekananada College define the send off they gave their seniors. The theme was ‘Life Amplified’.Energetic , exuberant , swinging’n singing to the tunes of popular numbers, characterised the farewell bash organised by the xpressionz club .

The welcome speech by the Honorary Director was brief and heart warming . He exhorted the seniors to reflect the Bhavan’s spirit in word and deed. The Principal, Dr.Y.Ashok’s message was precise and pithy.

The program opened with a foot tapping Fusion Dance. Dances like Retro, Bollywood and Jugalbandi received a rousing welcome . But it was the Qawwaali which really stole the show , driving the audience wild with joy.

Mementoes were to the seniors the Best Outgoing Student Award  was given to Venant from B.Sc Final year. As an East African ,he felt his Affair with Bhavan’s was worth remembering .

The guiding spirit behind the scene was Mrs.Ujjwala Desai as Coordinator of the Event did an excellent as always .Student  Co-ordinator  Gaurav from B.C.A II gave the vote of Thanks , he thanked everyone for making the event entertaining and memorable .For the students the Grand Finale was the DJ performance 
         In retrospect ,Bhavan’s Vivekananda College, ended a chapter on one more successful batch

Vibha 2011

Vibha, the annual college magazine, showcases the writing of the bhavanites. It provides them an excellent platform to express their feelings, thoughts and opinions for the creative aspirants.

The faculty advisors of vibha 2011 are Ms. Madhuri Mathur and Ms. Sandhya Das(dept. of Languages).

The student editors for the year are Ektya Nayak, Fatima S.K, Gaurav, Krishna Agarwal, Sakina Yunus, Mildred Nomiremebe and Jithin Mohan.
